Youth in DC is the brainchild of the staff of Uplift, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization which has several programs for the youth of DC. The goal was to find a way to let the world know about all of them. So, this campaign, movement, and celebration was started immediately. It will morph into many other useful things: a social networking site, a conference of sorts, a neighborhood tour, and several other amazing ideas. Our thinking caps are on tight!

The slogan was chosen to emphasize two essential aspects for a great quality of life for the youth of DC - playing and learning! If done at ones highest potential, these two activities should ultimate contribute to a happy life. We support playing hard, learning harder, and living happy!

As the newest initiative in Washington, DC, Youth in DC seeks to listen, engage, and provide a voice for all Youth in DC.
